The Fourth office in Sofia was set up in June 2015 to create a tech hub that could support the planned expansion and growth of Fourth that we are experiencing today. The office is getting busier and busier every day as we add more experts to our teams.

As part of our growth in Bulgaria, we are trying to inspire a new generation of tech experts. To do this we are partnering with New Bulgarian University in Sofia. Our specialists together with the university lecturers cover topics like software development life cycle, analysis and management of requirements, agile software development, design, testing and maintenance of software, and release management in the Information Technology BA programme.

These topics are important both for Fourth and for many other businesses trying to keep competitive and innovative. The successful execution of these software development activities is a key factor for delivering value to customers.

Fourth benefits from this partnership, as we are able to introduce our technologies and know-how at an academic level to prospective professionals who might graduate and come to work for us. We believe in recruiting the very best, and this gives us a fantastic insight as to how students perform in real-life projects, whilst at the same time giving them a taster of what it feels like working at Fourth.

The main benefit of this partnership for both Fourth and New Bulgarian University, is that it allows them to work together to create the next generation of IT specialists. Who knows, maybe the next Bill Gates is in there in the classroom, pondering over the best solutions for Fourth’s customers?

Employees at Fourth have been very excited with the new link build between the business and the university: many have volunteered to give lectures and conduct seminars. It’s great to see our Sofia community become so supportive and proactive towards this new partnership and we look forward to seeing what this partnership brings in the future.
