Challenge
Salt Lake Brewing Company needed a scheduling solution that could keep up with the fast-paced environment of their eight brew pubs and two breweries, all based in Utah.
Disseminating schedules, covering last-minute shifts, and maintaining operational compliance were all major friction points, especially for General Managers (GMs) juggling high-pressure roles on the floor and overseeing many staff members.
Additionally, the company was deeply committed to team equity. Ensuring fair shift rotations and balanced workload distribution across staff was a top priority but challenging to execute manually.
Solution
To meet these demands, the company implemented Fourth’s HotSchedules and Logbook. With HotSchedules, employees gained visibility and control over their own schedules, significantly reducing the back-and-forth with managers. Managers could easily fill open shifts, document changes, and ensure transparency. Meanwhile, HotSchedules’ Logbook enabled centralized tracking of daily operations, shift notes, and compliance tasks across all locations.
“Our goal was to create a system that helps provide opportunity to every team member, while building a great work environment. HotSchedules helps us do just that.”
– Barry Jensen, CTO
Beyond productivity, HotSchedules reinforced Salt Lake Brewing Company’s cultural values: teamwork, autonomy, and operational excellence. For Jensen, the real value lies in making his managers’ lives easier so they can focus on what really matters: creating memorable experiences for guests.
Save time, reduce costs, and increase profitability with Fourth’s intelligent solutions.
